Abel Mutua’s Range Rover Discovery Gets Unexpected Use in Njugush’s Latest Skit

Kenyan comedian Timothy Kimani has once again stirred conversation online after using Abel Mutua’s Land Rover Discovery to ferry cabbages from a local market before pretending to hawk them by the roadside.
The now-viral clip left many fans laughing, but beyond the humour, it also highlighted a growing trend among Kenyan entertainers — blending comedy, controversy and creativity to market their work.

Njugush Turns Luxury SUV Into ‘Pickup’

In the video shared online, Njugush drove Abel Mutua’s black Land Rover Discovery to Soko Mjinga market, where traders loaded the luxury SUV with sacks of cabbage.
The comedian joked as the vehicle slowly moved through the muddy market area. “Ndo kutoka Soko Mjinga, buy one get two free. Woi nileteeni order pale madfun.com,” he said.
After leaving the market, he parked by the roadside and pretended to sell the vegetables while promoting tickets for his upcoming TTNT 6 show.
Abel Mutua is currently in China with his wife Judy Nyawira, alongside comedian Eddie Butita and his partner Celeste. Fans joked that leaving the car with Njugush may have been a risky decision.

Fans Focus on ‘Tugi’ Appearance

One moment that especially caught viewers’ attention was the appearance of “Tugi”, a matatu linked to Njugush’s transport business, passing in the background during the skit.
Many online users questioned whether the timing was planned. “What perfect timing. Unaadvertise TTNT 6 Tugi inapita,” one fan wrote.
Another added: “Tugi kupita apo ni coincidence ama ni script?”
Others joked about the effect the cabbages might have on the expensive SUV. “We mzee chunga suspension ya hiyo gari,” another user commented.

Comedy and Promotion Now Go Hand in Hand

Njugush and Abel Mutua are among several Kenyan entertainers increasingly using humour and viral moments to market projects.
Recently, singer Willy Paul defended artists accused of “clout chasing” before music releases. The musician argued that attracting attention online is part of modern entertainment marketing.

“Every artist wants attention before a release — that’s how you get people talking about your music. It’s called promotion, not clout chasing,” Willy Paul said on Instagram.
