7 dead, several injured in Kamandura accident along Nairobi-Nakuru highway

Seven people have died and several others injured in a grisly road accident at Kamandura junction along the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway early Friday morning.

The accident occurred when a 14-seater matatu rolled multiple times after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

Witnesses at the scene said the vehicle veered off the road before overturning several times.

The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment as traffic police launch investigations into the cause of the crash.

The matatu was heading towards Nairobi at the time of the accident.

The incident occurred barely three kilometres from the scene of another deadly crash earlier in the day, where five people died after a separate 14-seater private vehicle was involved in a collision.

Police have urge drivers to exercise caution and observe traffic rules, especially during the rainy season when road conditions can be unpredictable.
