The assistant chief was reportedly abducted on December 27, at 10 a.m., while heading to the office. She did not return home afterwards. Omamo was discovered unconscious near Masara Primary School on Sunday, December 29, by a good Samaritan who later alerted the police. Suna West OCPD Chrispinus Omongini confirmed the incident, stating that Omamo was rushed to the hospital for medical attention after being found.
“A good Samaritan alerted us that a strange vehicle had dumped someone near Masara primary school. Since she was unconscious, we rushed her to Mascow Private Hospital in Masara,” the officer said. Police said the 45-year-old assistant chief was unable to communicate effectively, but her family was contacted through emergency numbers on her phone.
“The woman has been picked up today evening by her husband for further treatment,” he confirmed. Police confirmed that a missing persons report was filed at Wagai Police Station after the assistant chief went missing on December 27. The abductors, reportedly armed with a pistol and dressed in police uniform, initially took the assistant chief to Keroka in Nyamira county before later blindfolding her and dumping her in the Masara area.
