Source: Facebook Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, the girl’s sister, Claudia Mugoi, said Dorcus Achieng went missing on November 29, 2024.
Mugoi explained that she had left her in the house with a young child but was called later in the day by a neighbour who noticed the baby crying outside in the rain. “I left the house for work and was called by a neighbour, saying my child was left outside in the rain and was crying. Upon reaching home, I noticed she had packed some of her clothes,” she narrated.. Why did Dorcus Achieng leave home? She said there were reports that an unknown woman took the young girl to a different town.
The distressed sister explained that her parents were devastated and blamed her for the 16-year-old girl’s disappearance. “Our parents are worried and blame me because she was under my care. I have lived with her for a long time and even admitted her to Kaptebeswet Secondary School. We never quarrelled; I think somebody just deceived or wrongly advised her to run away,” she stated. The family requested help in finding Achieng and pleaded with anyone keeping her to take her back home.

Lilian Nyambura Mbugua’s mother revealed that she disappeared from their home without provocation. The family has urged Kenyans to report information about her whereabouts to any police station to help find her.
