Tanzanian music stars Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu have made a high-profile return home following the birth of their child. The couple, often regarded as East African music royalty, transformed their departure from the hospital into a public spectacle that drew massive crowds and a luxury motorcade on Tuesday afternoon.
The Hospital Departure
The scene outside the medical facility was electric. Crowds of fans and onlookers gathered on balconies and around the entrance to witness the couple’s first public appearance with the infant. Photographers were seen crouching near the exit to capture the moment the doors opened.
Diamond Platnumz stepped out wearing a coordinated black outfit, a fedora hat, and dark sunglasses. He carried a black baby carrier containing the newborn. Zuchu walked beside him in a long white robe and sunglasses, holding Diamond’s hand.

“Kipenzi cha roho yangu namba moja.”
The couple moved toward his blue luxury Rolls-Royce featuring a vibrant orange interior. Diamond opened the door for Zuchu before carefully securing the baby carrier inside the vehicle.
A Luxury Convoy Through the City
The journey home was not a quiet affair. A high-end motorcade escorted the family through the streets. The procession included several premium vehicles, notably a blue Rolls-Royce Cullinan and a black Cadillac Escalade.
Traffic police officers were on hand to manage the route as the convoy transitioned onto the main tarmac. They were joined by a fleet of motorcyclists who rode alongside the luxury SUVs. Throughout the journey, onlookers lined the roads to watch the famous pair pass by.
Arrival at the Family Residence
The convoy eventually pulled up to the family home. Waiting at the entrance was Diamond’s mother, Bi. Sandra, popularly known as Mama Dangote. She was dressed for the occasion in a patterned blue and green kitenge wrapper with a matching headwrap.
Diamond was the first to exit the vehicle with the black baby carrier, followed by Zuchu. Mama Dangote greeted them with broad smiles as they approached the doorway.

The First Meeting with Mama Dangote
The handover of the newborn was a moment of visible joy. Diamond passed the carrier to his mother, who immediately removed the black protective cover. Inside, the infant was wrapped in a simple white blanket.
“Mwana kakua eh kakua baba kakua.”
Mama Dangote cradled the baby warmly in her arms, looking down at the child with delight. The celebratory atmosphere was captured in chants of “mwana kakua,” marking the growth and health of the new arrival.
The family then moved into the living room. The couple and Mama Dangote sat together on a white sofa to admire the newborn in the comfort of their home.
Diamond Platnumz is the founder of the Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) label, where Zuchu is signed as a lead artist. Their relationship and the arrival of their newborn have been subjects of intense public interest across the region.
