Communication expert and media trainer Hinn Welamond Walubengo has shared his thoughts on why some people appear to attract unusual attention wherever they go, saying that in every family there is often one person who stands out. He made the remarks while responding to a question from Obinna during an interview on Obinna TV.
Obinna had asked Hinn Welamond Walubengo why he often found himself in situations that seemed unrelated to him, and why certain statements drew greater backlash when he said them than when other people made similar remarks.

“There is a time in my life where I kept asking myself, why me. Sometimes I’d find myself in situations that had nothing to do with me, or I’d say something that anyone else would do, but I’d get more repercussions, why”
The Burden of a Special Assignment
In response, Hinn Welamond Walubengo said that every family, community, and region has at least one person who is “marked” for a unique purpose. According to him, such individuals often experience life differently because they carry what he described as a special assignment.
“In every family, nation, region, kuna msee mmoja ako marked na God anakuanga ameinvest so much in them.”
He referred to the books The Road to Character and The Second Mountain, explaining that they discuss how people’s character is shaped through life experiences and responsibilities. Walubengo said that individuals entrusted with greater responsibilities often go through unique experiences intended to prepare them for what lies ahead.
He explained that if such experiences are supported by the right environment, they can help a person grow into their purpose. However, he said that when they are not understood or nurtured, the same experiences can become a source of pain and emotional struggle.
“But sasa kama hutapata perspective ya God mapema ama upate msee atawalk na wewe, hio kitu itakupush in pain.”
Decoding the Magnetic “X-Factor”
Hinn Welamond Walubengo also quoted the phrase, “With great power comes great responsibility,” saying that some people possess what he called an “X factor”—a quality that naturally attracts attention. According to him, this can result in either admiration or rejection, with such individuals often becoming the focus wherever they go.

He added that many people do not recognize the existence of this “X factor,” describing it as a God-given quality that makes a person more noticeable than others. Because of that visibility, he said both their achievements and mistakes tend to receive more public attention.
The Crucial Role of Mentorship and Guidance
To illustrate his point, Hinn Welamond Walubengo cited the late Kenyan content creator Brian Chira, noting that he consistently attracted large audiences, including during his controversial online broadcasts. Hinn Welamond Walubengo said it was possible that Chira was not nurtured into what he was intended to become, suggesting that guidance plays an important role for people who naturally command public attention.
“Brian Chira imagine alikua anaenda TikTok live, watu 300k wanatokea na saa hio amelewa, ako madre. Msee anakufa watu 10k wanatokea na kuchanga mamilioni ya pesa, but its either hakukua guarded mapema ama kukua nurtured.”
