Baby Top Mourns MediaMax Colleague Who Helped Shape Her Career

Kameme FM presenter Muthoni wa Kirumba, popularly known as Baby Top, is mourning the loss of a MediaMax Network Limited employee  whom she credited with playing a significant role in the success of her brand activations and public engagements.

In an emotional Facebook post shared on Saturday, 27th June 2026, Baby Top announced the death of Rufus Githendu Mbuthia, expressing gratitude for his contribution to her journey while paying tribute to the bond they shared.

The influencer’s message quickly drew condolences from fans, fellow creators and friends, many of whom comforted her and remembered the deceased for his dedication behind the scenes.

An emotional farewell

In her post, Baby Top described the deceased as someone who stood by her during many of her professional milestones.

MediaMax Network Limited also confirmed Rufus’ death in an official statement, revealing that he passed away after collapsing on his way to work.

“It is with profound sadness that MediaMax Network Limited announces the passing of our dear colleague, Mr Rufus Githendu Mbuthia, who served as a Technician in our Transmission Department. Rufus collapsed on the morning of Friday, June 26, 2026, while on his way to work and was rushed to a health centre in Kikuyu, where he sadly passed away.”
