Mulamwah Reveals Plan to Quit Nairobi and Social Media After Completing Mansion

Kenyan comedian Mulamwah has revealed plans to walk away from the digital spotlight. Once his multi-million-shilling mansion in Kitale is complete, he intends to quit social media and return to his rural roots.

The comedian, who built his brand on “ushamba” (rural life) content, views his upcoming move as a calculated exit. He believes the entertainment industry has a shelf life. He compares his career to a visit to a forest.

“You enter the forest during the day to pick fruit, but darkness eventually falls,” Mulamwah explained. “If darkness finds you there, you will leave with nothing.”

He argues that many entertainers stay in the city for too long. They often lose their assets once their peak earning years pass. By moving to Kitale, he aims to secure his future while he is still successful.

A 20 Million Shilling Fall-back Plan

The “Kitale King” is not moving back to a modest home. He revealed that his new house has already cost more than 10 million KES. He expects the final total to exceed 20 million KES.

For Mulamwah, investing in the village is a fallback strategy. He believes Nairobi is unpredictable. In the city, one might lose a home or a car if income dries up. Having a stable home in the village provides a safety net.

“If things fail here in Nairobi, you just board a bus for 800 shillings and go home,” he said during a recent interview. “You must have a place that can receive you.”

Financial Discipline and Assets

Behind the comedy is a disciplined investor. At his peak, Mulamwah managed 16 different brand campaigns in a single month. He also grew a fleet of motorbikes (boda bodas) to nearly 50 units.

Despite earning millions, he maintains a strict personal budget. He pays himself a fixed monthly salary of 150,000 KES. He saves the rest to fund projects like his mansion and land acquisitions. He often takes land parcels as payment for brand endorsements.

Seeking Peace Over Fame

The decision to retire from social media stems from a desire for peace and stability. Mulamwah has faced significant pressure in the public eye. In a well-known past incident, he famously burnt his signature performance shirt due to intense cyberbullying.

He admits that fame takes a toll on mental health. He no longer wishes toparticipate inthe “noise” of online life. He now prefers the calmness of his rural home.

“The hunger I have now is for peace,” he noted. “Just being quiet and enjoying life.”

Once the keys to the Kitale mansion are handed over, the comedian plans to relocate permanently. He says he will leave the stage for others to struggle in the city while he enjoys the fruits of his labour.
