Eric Omondi has secured two major awards for his humanitarian work. This recognition comes just as he prepares to hit the road again for a massive trek across the country.
The Kenyan personality shared the news on his Instagram page on Sunday. He revealed that he won big at the Kenya Social Impact Awards held recently.
His accolades include the Social Impact Transformational Award and the Humanitarian Service and Community Leadership Award.
Recognition for ‘Sisi kwa Sisi’
Omondi credited his supporters, known as “Team Sisi kwa Sisi,” for the achievement. He celebrated the win with the phrase “God Did,” highlighting the collective effort behind his recent charity initiatives.

The “Sisi kwa Sisi” movement has gained significant traction on social media. It focuses on Kenyans helping other Kenyans through small, individual donations. These awards validate his transition from the entertainment stage to grassroots activism.
“TEAM SISI KWA SISI WE DIT AGAIN!!! GOD DID!!! Yesterday we Won two Awards at the Kenya Social Impact Awards.” — Eric Omondi.
The Next Big Challenge
The award ceremony took place only a fortnight after Omondi finished a gruelling 484-kilometre walk from Nairobi to Mombasa. That journey was aimed at raising awareness and funds for various social causes across the nation.Instead of resting, Omondi is already moving to his next target. He has already started a 466-kilometre walk to the Busia border on Monday morning.
This new route represents another major commitment to his ongoing mission to support vulnerable communities.
Funding the Mission
The walk to Busia serves a specific fundraising purpose. Omondi is inviting the public to support the cause through a unique model. Supporters have the option to “buy a kilometre” for 20,000 Kenyan Shillings.
For those who cannot afford a full kilometre, Omondi has provided a Paybill number for smaller contributions. He urged his followers to “send whatever you can” to support the mission as he heads toward the border.
“Remember you can buy a Kilometre at 20K or send whatever you can to the Paybill.” — Eric Omondi.
Eric Omondi was formerly known primarily as a comedian and entertainer. In the last two years, he has pivoted towards social activism and humanitarian work.

He often uses his massive social media following to highlight the struggles of ordinary Kenyans, such as high living costs, unemployment, and unpaid medical bills. His “Sisi kwa Sisi” (Us for Us) initiative has become a platform for direct community aid, often raising millions of shillings for specific cases in hours.
The walk to Busia marks the latest chapter in this transition. With two new awards to his name, Omondi continues to push the boundaries of celebrity-led activism in East Africa.
