Aliko Dangote remains Africa’s richest person in 2025, topping the Forbes list for the 14th consecutive year with a net worth of $23.9 billion.
The Nigerian billionaire, known for his investments in cement, sugar, and oil, leads the continent’s wealth rankings.
South African billionaire Johann Rupert follows with $14 billion, while Nicky Oppenheimer, another South African business magnate, is third with $10.4 billion.
Egypt has four representatives on the list, including Nassef Sawiris ($9.6 billion) and Mohamed Mansour ($3.4 billion).
Nigeria’s Mike Adenuga and Abdul Samad Rabiu also feature prominently.
The list highlights Africa’s economic diversity, with fortunes built in industries such as mining, retail, telecommunications, and manufacturing.
Dangote’s continued dominance underscores the resilience of Africa’s industrial sector.
