President William Ruto is anticipated to exert his influence and get the backing of the Mt. Kenya region that overwhelmingly voted for him in the 2022 General Elections during his five-day tour commencing tomorrow (Tuesday).

The Head of State is expected to commission completed projects, inspect ongoing ones and launch others under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda after a six month absence from the region following the removal of Rigathi Gachagua as Deputy President.

Some of the projects include roads, affordable housing, fresh produce markets, last mile electricity connectivity, water and irrigation, among others.

The tour will cover nine counties namely; Laikipia, Nyeri, Meru, Kirinyaga, Nyandarua, Murang’a, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi and Kiambu.

Today evening, the Head of State is expected to participate in a radio interview at Sagana State Lodge in preparation for his tour of the Mt. Kenya region.

The interview will be broadcast live from 7:00 pm on KBC Coro FM and all regional stations.

His first destination to the region will be in Rumuruti, Laikipia West Constituency then head to Nanyuki, Laikipia East Constituency and finally at Naromuro, Kieni Constituency.

Meanwhile, Public Service Cabinet Secretary nominee, Geoffrey Ruku has welcomed Ruto’s upcoming tour of the Mt. Kenya region and challenged anyone who claims the Government has not made significant strides in development to visit Mbeere North.

Speaking in Siakago Town, Ruku emphasized the remarkable progress the Mbeere North constituency has seen under the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Embu Senator Alexander Munyi Mundigi has also called upon Embu residents to disregard any calls for disruptions ahead of President William Ruto’s visit to Embu County this week.

The Senator Mundigi underscored the significance of the visit, noting that it presents an opportunity for the community to benefit from key development projects.
