For any inquiries or further details, feel free to reach out to us.”

Legal Framework & Accreditation

The Commission for University Education (CUE) was established under the Universities Act, No. 42 of 2012, replacing the Commission for Higher Education. It is the government agency responsible for regulating university education in Kenya.

The Universities Regulations, 2014, gazetted on June 12, 2014, are currently in force. All stakeholders in university education are urged to familiarize themselves with these regulations and adhere strictly to them.

As per Section 28 (4) of the Act, CUE is mandated to publish a list of accredited universities authorized to offer degree programs in Kenya.

Out of 94 universities in Kenya, 79 are fully accredited.
