Source: Instagram Many know that MPs earn a good salary, but what is also clear is that they usually have many deductions, which could result in them going home with nothing. The legislator has once again given his followers a look at what he earns every month and it is clear that he is one of those that suffers a good amount of deductions. Why Salasya’s net salary is very low Going on his Instagram page on Tuesday, February 4, Salasya shared his monthly payslip, which shows that he earns a good KSh 1.12 million as his gross salary, with a basic salary of KSh 435,301.

However, this faces huge cuts that include a monthly car loan of KSh 84,594, Housing Levy deductions of KSh 16,455 and also a huge mortgage of KSh 533,266 every month. As if this is not enough, Salasya also faces a monthly staff pension fund cut of KSh 54,847, a PAYE of 322,273 and also a KSh 30,168 Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF). This, coupled with other cuts sees him take home a net salary of only KSh 18, 746, which makes his total deductions a huge amount of KSh 1,092,280. Salasya fumes at President Ruto This seems to be the reason why Salasya was not happy with the new idea that NSSF cuts were going o be increased amist the tough economic times.

In his caption to the post, he noted that many had committed their payslips but the government still wanted to increase the deductions, saying it would be worse for police officers and teachers. The legislator even asked God where the country went wrong, and asked for mercy on behalf of Mwananchi. “People have committed their payslips still Kasongo wants to add another deductions of NSSF sasa ya mwalimu na askari si itakuwa negative 10. Mungu tulikosea wapi tutubu ndio ukatupa kasongo kutesa sisi wafanyakazi. The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob have mercy on us now,” Salasya wrote.
