Internet personality and former TV & radio host, Angela Wanjiru Muriuki, widely known as Ciru Muriuki, has finally announced her return to social media after a long break to heal from her personal loss.

Ciru was engaged to the late Charles ‘Charlie’ Ouda, who was involved in numerous Kenyan productionsThe family of Charles Ouda, 38, announced his untimely death on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

In her tribute at the time, Ciru shared that their love story had taken her by surprise. 

In a recent Instagram story, Ciru expressed her gratitude to her fans for their unwavering support and love during her difficult time. She shared:

“I had to take a small break from socials. As y’all know, this has been THE HARDEST year of my life. There’s been a lot of life stuff that I needed to sort out. Aki, thank you all for your DMs, for your support, and for your love. EHE, what did I miss?? ^^”

Tragically, Ciru’s fiancé, Charles, passed away shortly after they had gotten engaged. Ouda, known for his roles in projects like Makutano Junction, The First Grader, and Count It Out, was not only a gifted actor but also a distinguished film director and scriptwriter.

He starred in popular TV shows including The Know Zone, Changing Times (KTN), Higher Learning, Changes, Mali (NTV), Second Family, Crime and Justice (Showmax), and Salem (Maisha Magic).

Ciru herself began her career at Homeboyz Radio in 2008, captivating late-night listeners. Over the years, she made significant contributions to Kiss 100 radio, Nation Media Group, Royal Media Services, and Mediamax Networks, showcasing her versatility and storytelling talents.

Her international reach grew during her time at the BBC where she worked from 2018 to 2022.
