Autopsy: Umoja gym trainer died from blood clot in lungs

A blood clot in the lungs caused the death of Umoja gym trainer Alphy Migasha, an autopsy has revealed.

It is believed the clot formed following a fracture he sustained in an assault at a club on December 22, 2025.

He succumbed to the injuries at home on January 17, 2026.

His family said he vomited blood before dying. He had visited the hospital to treat a fractured leg sustained in the assault by a known suspect.

Chief government pathologist Dr Johansen Oduor conducted the postmortem at the City Mortuary and confirmed that the blood clot caused the death.

“The blood clot travelled to the lung, causing death. We believe it emanated from a leg injury he had,” he said
