Rev. Lucy Natasha’s Physical Church Closes Down, Services Moved Online – Here’s Why

Reverend Lucy Natasha, the prominent General Overseer of the Empowerment Christian Church (ECC), has announced a major change for her congregation.

In a recent update shared with her followers, she confirmed that the church will no longer hold physical gatherings at its well-known Nairobi location.

The decision marks a significant shift for the ministry, which has traditionally gathered at the Biashara Plaza Rooftop. According to an official statement posted on her social media channels, the move is effective immediately, starting from Sunday, the 11th.

Unexpected Venue Challenges

The transition to a digital-only format comes as a result of what the leadership describes as venue challenges.

While the specific nature of these challenges was not detailed in the public notice, the announcement made it clear that the physical doors at the Biashara Plaza would remain closed for the foreseeable future.

In the notice addressed to the “Shalom Empowerment Nation,” Natasha explained that the church is currently in a period of transition.

This move ensures that the ministry can continue its work without the limitations currently posed by its previous physical site.

“Due to venue challenges, starting this Sunday, the 11th, we shall not be gathering at Biashara Plaza Rooftop. All services will remain ONLINE until further notice.”

A Shift to Digital Ministry

For many followers, this shift represents a new chapter in how the ECC engages with its members.

Reverend Natasha, often referred to by her followers as “The Oracle,” has spent years building a massive digital presence.

She maintains a significant following on platforms like Instagram and Facebook, where she often broadcasts sermons to thousands of viewers globally.

This existing digital infrastructure likely makes the transition to online-only services more manageable for the organisation.

Searching for a Permanent Home

The move to online services is not intended to be permanent. The leadership has expressed a desire to find a new physical location that better suits the needs of the growing congregation.

Natasha urged her followers to remain supportive and prayerful during this period of change. The goal is to eventually move into a dedicated facility that the ministry can call its own.

“Please stand with us in prayer as we transition toward our own God-ordained space.”

The Background of ECC

Empowerment Christian Church has become a staple of the Nairobi evangelical scene. Reverend Lucy Natasha, who now goes by Dr. Lucy Natasha Carmel following her marriage to Prophet Stanley Carmel, has led the church through various stages of growth.

The ministry is known for its high-energy services and modern approach to preaching. While the loss of the

Biashara Plaza Rooftop venue is a hurdle, the leadership remains optimistic about the future.
