Gospel Minister Kushy Tracey Celebrates Three Years of Sobriety and Spiritual Restoration

Gospel singer and minister Kushy Tracey is celebrating a powerful personal milestone—three years since she walked away from alcohol, sheesha, cigarettes, bhang, and other substances, marking what she describes not just as sobriety, but complete spiritual restoration.

In a heartfelt reflection shared to mark the anniversary, the minister revealed that her journey away from addiction was not rooted in sudden strength, but in deep honesty, healing, and surrender.

“I didn’t quit because I was suddenly strong,” she shared. “I’ve been on a journey of breaking and healing because I finally became honest about my pain and cried out for help from the one true healer.”

Kushy Tracey disclosed that substances and destructive behaviors were never her true identity, but rather coping mechanisms she used to escape unresolved emotional wounds. She explained that unprocessed pain often seeks relief—and when that relief is repeatedly sought in unhealthy ways, it can quietly become a stronghold.

From a psychological perspective, the singer says she has learned that pain left unattended does not disappear, but instead manifests through habits that offer temporary escape. Spiritually, she came to a profound realization: she was not running from God, but searching for comfort and unconditional love in the wrong places.

“How can we truly know love if we do not know God, when God is love?” she reflected.

Quoting Galatians 5:1, Kushy Tracey emphasized that freedom is a gift Christ offers, but one that must be guarded with intention and faith. She noted that her healing did not happen overnight, but came through humility, support systems, clear boundaries, renewal of the mind and daily encounters with God’s grace—not condemnation, but restoration.

Marking three years sober, the minister was intentional in reframing the milestone. “Three years sober is not my trophy,” she said. “My freedom through Christ is.”

She also extended a message of hope to anyone still battling addiction, reminding them that they are not weak, broken or beyond redemption. According to Kushy Tracey, her story stands as living proof that transformation is possible, and that God’s love and power to restore are available to all.

“This isn’t just sobriety,” she concluded. “This is spiritual restoration.”
