Jaymoh Decin Explains Why He Called Out Malcom for Failing to Support His Sudhee Experience

Kenyan comedian Jaymoh Decin has clarified why he publicly questioned US-based content creator Malcom for failing to promote his upcoming live show.

Speaking to media representatives ahead of his comedy event Sudhee Experience, Jaymoh expressed frustration that fellow creatives often share news of tragedies while ignoring active projects by living artists.

The controversy arose after Malcolm posted a tribute following the death of Derrick Omollo, a JKUAT student and TikTok creator who died recently in Juja. Jaymoh revealed that he had spent three months directly messaging Malcom to request publicity for his upcoming showcase.

“Malcom nilikuwa nimemdm like three months ananiambia mwecheche, but pia nawawambia mwecheche wekelea so manzee imekuwa painful manzee,” Jaymoh stated.

Frustration Over Lack of Industry Unity

Jaymoh previously voiced his dissatisfaction in a social media comment that garnered over 1,300 likes. In the post, he urged creators to offer genuine backing to active artists rather than waiting for tragic moments.

Lets Just Genuinely Support our Own!! Usipost Msani akidedi, in the Meantime link on bio Grab your tickets for sudhe Experience 12th September KICC,” Jaymoh wrote.

He stressed that his message was not driven by entitlement, but by a desire to foster mutual support within the local entertainment sector. He highlighted how international artists frequently visit Kenya to leverage the local audience.

“I felt like right now since I have a show, let me reach out to fellow creators in the industry for support because wanasema dunia duara. Pia mimi kuna time someone will come to me asking for the support, and I will support,” he added.

Broad Industry Connections and Show Preparations

Jaymoh noted that he consistently supports other entertainers across the country. He mentioned participating in events organised by fellow creators such as YY Comedian, Njugush, and Nadia Mukami.

He shared that singer Otile Brown recently reached out to him personally. “Otile Brown just called me akaniambia Jaymoh hebu come tu kule Lunch,” Jaymoh revealed.

Reflecting on the financial realities of content creation, Jaymoh acknowledged the personal sacrifices involved in putting together major shows. “Kuna time ingine unarudi kwa mfuko yako. Lakini passion lazima isonge mbele,” he said.
