Gospel singer Betty Bayo has bid her daughter, Sky Victor, farewell as she heads abroad for a summer camp. Betty Bayo’s daughter flew abroad. Photo: Betty Bayo. Source: Facebook Betty first hinted at the trip in May alongside businesswoman Sarah Kabu. In a joint video, the two mums revealed that they had been planning the trip for months, researching opportunities, and making arrangements. Sarah told the children it would be both fun and educational, while Betty added that they would meet peers from over 120 countries.
Why is Betty Bayo’s daughter flying to UK? The camp, open to teens aged 13 to 17, will offer a cultural exchange alongside adventure. Sarah mentioned they would book flights and arrange transfers separately, with each travelling with their children. Betty’s daughter, Sky, expressed excitement about the trip, joking that it would also give her some time to herself. On Sunday, August 10, the mother of two shared numerous images from the airport. The family was warmly dressed as they helped Sky with her bags to the departure lounge. Unlike earlier plans, Betty stated that Sky would be flying abroad alone. “At the airport to see off my daughter as she travels alone to the UK to attend the leading international summer camp in the world for kids aged 12 to 17 years for one week and get a chance to interact and meet students from all over the world.”
Betty mentioned that the camp takes place every July and August and urged parents to start paying in instalments. Many Kenyans were impressed by how Betty supports her daughter and exposes her to new experiences. Others inquired about the qualifications needed for a child to attend the summer camp. Here are some of the reactions: Kui Peris: “Safe skies. Money is sweet, oh may it locate me in Jesus’ name.” Chege Esther: “She is a star. I love the way you support her.” Charles Maina: “What are the qualifications for a kid to attend?” Yadah Phyllice: “Congratulations, little Champion. Safe flight.” Overcomer Favour: “This is so good, supporting your child as young as she is. Safe flight, Sky Victor.”
