A family is mourning the death of their 19-year-old daughter, Faith Momanyi, who passed away under unclear circumstances. The late Momany was found dead at her alleged lover’s home in Nairobi. How did Faith Momanyi die in Nairobi? Momanyi, who had recently completed her Form Four education with a B, had celebrated her birthday on Thursday, March 6, before her unexpected death.  It began when she left home to meet her friends at an entertainment venue along Lang’ata Road. According to a report by Citizen TV, after spending time with friends, Momanyi’s companions headed home, while she went to a male friend’s house with another friend.

“When we got here, the man said that he would be heading to bed since he had to report early to work the following morning. We said we would be okay,” Momanyi’s friend said. They continued celebrating, but the friend who had accompanied Momanyi left for home after receiving a call from her mother, leaving Momanyi with her alleged lover. In the morning, Momanyi’s friend tried to reach her but was unsuccessful. Around 5 p.m., her male friend returned home from work and found that she had locked herself in the room. When he opened the door, he found Momanyi’s lifeless body on the bed. He then informed her father, who fainted upon arriving at the scene and seeing his daughter dead. An autopsy report confirmed that Momanyi died of suffocation.

Momanyi Atisa, the father, struggled to contain his grief as he recalled the efforts he had put into his daughter’s education, only for her life to end so suddenly. “She was my hope. I have struggled to educate her but she has now left us,” the father said. Momanyi’s alleged lover was arrested to assist with the investigation, while her body was taken to the morgue. The late Momanyi was set to join university this year after excelling in her KCSE exams.
