  • On a recent phone call on Radio Jambo hosted by Gidi and Ghost Sakaja cleared out the air on the issues behind the actions Nairobi City council presented at the KPLC offices.
  • “We had an agreement with KPLC that we will be paying the debt in installments such that every month we were supposed to pay Ksh100 million of which we used to pay. We delayed the payments at times because we get money from the National Government of which they delay the transactions in a week or two-week time, but they always deliver, and us also being in the Government we could not allow such things to happen” Sakaja said.
  • After a weeks’ time delay of payment KPLC went to their offices and cut of the light, and they were in a black out for a whole week.
  • Sakaja explained the kind of embarrassment he faced that week having that he had a meeting with over 15 different mayors representing international countries who could hear the sound of their generators working overtime
  • “The mayors could just hear the sound of the generator working full time. We were discussing on the climate change and global warming, yet we were there overworking our generators ilichoma sana” he exclaimed
  • The law says according to Sakaja that the National rating act doesn’t allow the power to be cut off on the country’s services which include Water, lights and even sewers.
  • Sakaja then decided to take matters at his own hands where he also cut of the lights and sewer around their offices and even send Vehicles to block their offices
  • “About the litter dumping that was not part of my plan, the workers were just angry because of the contempt they faced from Kplc, but the action was uncalled for, and the litter was collected in less than 30 minutes after dumping it.”Sakaja said
  • They are currently about to hold a meeting together with Head of Public Service, Inspector General the Kplc people and Johnson Sakaja accompanied by his team so as to come up with solutions to solve the pending case.
  • “They are also yet to pay our debt they also owe as more that Ksh3 billion and on looks of things they are not planning to pay us anytime soon, but the County Government has so many projects to do people want roads, water and even children want food to eat at school where will the money come from “Sakaja exclaimed
