Veteran gospel singer Daddy Owen is heartbroken after learning that his friend, Kenneth Ochwando, perished in a devastating accident in the Suswa area along the Narok-Mai Mahiu Road. .The crash, which occurred on Monday, December 23, claimed the lives of eight people, including Ochwando, the head of procurement at Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA).

Daddy Owen shared a deeply emotional message, recalling fond memories with Ochwando and his family. “Last year, during a season like this, I visited my friend Philip in Kisii and met his brother Ken. We bonded deeply, and the whole family had planned to visit me in Kakamega this year,” Owen said.
The singer shared that he had already made plans for Ochwando and his family to visit him in Kakamega during the festive season. Owen was devastated when he later saw photos of the crash online, including images of a severely damaged Prado. Among the pictures shared by government officials, Owen recognised a familiar face, confirming the tragic news of his friend’s passing.
“Tragically, Ken lost his life in the Suswa accident. My heart sank, as I had already made plans for their visit, and Ken had informed his family. I later saw photos of the accident online, including a crashed Prado, and recognised a familiar face in a photo shared by government officials,” Owen continued.The singer expressed profound sorrow, reflecting on the unimaginable pain of losing a friend in such tragic circumstances.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Kenneth Ochwando during this difficult time. “I never imagined one day seeing a friend in such a tragic circumstance. My deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. R.I.P. Ken,” he expressed.
