Since joining Form One last year, TikToker Alice Chebet aka Kienyeji Pro Max, has struggled to stay in school. That was until a group of fans got wind of her heartbreaking story and launched an initiative to provide her with a better education opportunity. Businesswoman Irene Cheptab Oret, who led the initiative, told TUKO.co.ke that Chebet agreed to backtrack because of the challenges she’s been facing. “Financial issues have been hindering her from concentrating on school. You know she has never sat for any exam since she joined Form One,” Irene said. Given that she had found an opportunity to right the wrongs, she was ready to start afresh to change her life and that of her family. Irene noted that Chebet will do clearance at her current school on Monday, shop and travel on Tuesday, and then report to the new school on Wednesday. Where it all began In April, the philanthropists visited her at her home in Kipchiria, Mt Elgon, in a heartwarming display of community support. An emotional Chebet expressed gratitude for the community’s willingness to unite and uplift her needy family. As of the time of filing the report, the group had raised KSh 176,000 towards the course, but they hope for more input from the public or sponsors. Chebet expressed gratitude for her father’s hard work and the support she has received from her social media family since last year.
