Maurine Omari Omulama experienced a chilling encounter with her Saudi Arabian boss, leaving her family heartbroken.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, her brother Sylvester Omulama, who lives in Kitengela, heartbreakingly recounted their last conversation on call. He shared that his sister was on the brink of returning to Kenya when an unfortunate turn of events occurred.
“We were talking on a voice call on WhatsApp. She said her employer burnt her clothes, passport and all other important documents. At that moment, the boss also took her phone and broke it. We do not know if she is okay or if she is alive.
We are very worried,” he said. When did Omulama travel to Saudi? Sylvester shared that her sister travelled abroad in 2019 in search of greener pastures, and life in a new country was not smooth. He said his 30-year-old sister complained occasionally about the harsh treatment from her boss and being allegedly overworked. However, he said the mum of two never complained of any brutality during the years she served under her boss. “This incident happened after her imminent departure to Kenya.
It seems there was a disagreement as if the boss did not want to release her,” he said. Sylvester opens up on living with sister’s kids Sylvester shared that he lives with his nephew and niece, but being a family man makes it is hard to care for everyone.
He relied on his sister’s Saudi salary, but after the ordeal with her boss, she had yet to send financial aid back home. “I cannot lie. It is tough. It has been tough all along.
