Kenyan singer and songwriter Fidel Shammah, popularly known as Charisma, has opened up about his academic journey, revealing his primary and secondary school results during a light-hearted interview with Kalondu.
The musician disclosed that he scored 400 marks in his KCPE examinations before joining Nairobi School for his secondary education.
He also revealed that he attained an A- in KCSE, offering fans a glimpse into the academic background of the artiste known for songs such as Sina Noma.
Charisma Reveals His KCPE Score
During the interview, Charisma was asked about his academic performance.
He said he scored 400 marks in KCPE, a result that enabled him to progress to one of Nairobi’s well-known national schools.
Charisma went on to study at Nairobi School, where he completed his secondary education.
The singer also shared some of his experiences with different subjects.
He identified English as his favourite subject, while naming Geography as the subject he liked least.
“I got 400 marks in KCPE and scored an A- in KCSE.”
From Nairobi School to Law
Charisma’s academic journey did not end after secondary school.
He later joined the University of Nairobi, where he pursued Law.
His legal education is part of a background that contrasts with his current career in music.
The Kenya Times has previously reported that Charisma, whose full name is Fidel Eli Shammah Omusula, attended Nairobi School before joining the University of Nairobi to study Law.
Business Daily has also reported that Charisma was a university law student when he was first introduced to many music fans as a member of Le Band in 2018.
Academic Background Meets Music
Although he trained in Law, Charisma eventually pursued music professionally.
He became known as the lead vocalist of Le Band before embarking on a solo career.
His music catalogue includes Sina Noma, True Love, Marry, U Twice and Wivu. His debut album, The Motions, was released in 2024.
