The decision was reached during a sitting steered by committee chairperson Senator Fatuma Dullo after members accused Kihika of repeatedly ignoring invitations and a formal summons issued in relation to an ongoing inquiry.
Why Senate wants Susan Kihika arrested According to Dullo, the governor has failed to honour all requests to appear before the committee, prompting members to invoke measures aimed at compelling her attendance. Kihika is among key stakeholders expected to submit evidence and respond to issues raised in a petition concerning the alleged forced disappearances of young fishermen at Lake Nakuru National Park. However, despite being required to appear before the committee, she has reportedly failed to attend any of the proceedings. The committee consequently resolved that she be arrested and brought before lawmakers to answer questions related to the inquiry.
