Kenyan digital content creator and influencer Chebet Ronoh has reached a major personal milestone. She recently celebrated being alcohol-free for nine months.
The former radio host shared the news with her followers on social media, expressing surprise at her own progress.
Ronoh noted that this is the longest she has stayed sober since she first began drinking. While she has been diligent about tracking her progress, she revealed that her daily counting will soon come to an end.

The Decision to Stop Counting
As she nears the one-year mark, Ronoh has decided to change how she views her recovery. She informed her fans that once she hits 12 months of sobriety, she will likely stop tracking the days and months.
“I think after a year I’ll stop counting. But to imagine this is the first time I’ve gone this long without it ever since I started is major to me.”
For Ronoh, reaching nine months is a significant achievement. She admitted that the duration of her sobriety has exceeded her own expectations.
Documenting the Journey
Throughout her recovery, Ronoh has been transparent with her audience. She frequently uses social media to provide updates. In December 2025, she shared a graphic celebrating five months and four days of being alcohol-free.
Her updates are often candid. She speaks about surviving public scrutiny and emotional battles. She has described her past struggles as a spiritual, emotional, and social assassination attempt.

Instead of giving up, she used these challenges to fuel her growth, a process she calls spiritual alchemy.
Recognising the Problem
Ronoh’s journey began when she realised alcohol was no longer for fun. It had started to affect her finances, relationships, and personal life. She admitted that drinking had become a form of escapism.
She eventually sought help at a rehabilitation centre. She also focused on her mental health. Being a public figure with social anxiety made the process more difficult. However, she remained determined to find a version of herself that could enjoy life without being drunk.
“I had to be able to understand that my energy is enough just as it is, and I don’t need to be drunk to enjoy life or have fun.”
Looking to the Future
The influencer is now focused on self-improvement and entrepreneurship. She stated that she wants to build her confidence without needing external validation.

Ronoh credits her progress to being patient with herself and surrounding herself with honest people. She believes it is vital to have a support team that “holds the mirror to your face” and tells the truth.
