Someone, somewhere, looks just like you. For a growing number of Kenyans, that someone is famous. This month, look-alikes of singers, politicians and county officials have gone viral, and a few have even shaken hands with their twins.
Nikita Kering meets her double
On Wednesday, 30 September 2026, singer Nikita Kering’ met Kinsea Fatma, the woman drawing attention online for her resemblance to her. A video of the encounter was shared on social media.

Fans were quick with the jokes. Some called her “Niki Catering”, playing on Kering’s name and Kiki’s business. Others went with “Nikita Kering on a low budget”.

Fatma runs the account @kikiskitchen2025 and is known online as Kiki. She thanked Kering for the surprise in a post, and appeared excited to meet her.
Users have been amused by how similar the two women look. What began as an online comparison ended in a real-life meeting.
Mosiria’s “original”
Nairobi County official Geoffrey Mosiria has faced his own double. On Friday, 4 September, he shared a video of a man imitating his mannerisms and way of speaking.

Gachagua meets his “younger version”
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has met the man who went viral for looking like him. The meeting took place during his visit to the United States on Sunday, 6 September.
The man is identified in reports as Cyrus Ndung’u. The two stood side by side, exchanged greetings and chatted.
Gachagua seemed amused. He asked the man for his name and what he does in Seattle. Ndung’u introduced himself and explained his work.

How he went viral
The resemblance first caught attention weeks earlier at a Mugithi event in Seattle, Washington. A video showed him in a cowboy hat and checked shirt, mingling with the crowd.
After the meeting, users joked that the “original” had finally met his “younger version”.
Alikiba Mwitu finally meets the real Alikiba
Across the border, social media personality Alikiba Mwitu has spent months being compared to Tanzanian Bongo Flava star Alikiba. Users pointed to his facial features, hairstyle and overall look.
The comparisons grew into calls for the two to meet, and on Saturday, 26 September 2026, they finally did.

Photos and videos of the encounter were shared online. Fans could finally compare the two side by side.
Why it keeps happening
Each story follows the same pattern. A clip goes viral, the star notices, and a meeting follows. For the celebrity, it is free publicity. For the look-alike, it can mean a following overnight.
