President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto joined basketball fans in New York to support Kenyan-born WNBA star Madina Okot during Atlanta Dream’s clash with New York Liberty.
The President and the First Lady watched the game courtside at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where Okot plays for the Atlanta Dream.

Ruto later shared a selfie with Rachel and Okot as they met on the court, capturing a special moment for the Kenyan basketball star.
Okot, who was selected 13th overall by Atlanta in the 2026 WNBA Draft, featured in the game as the Dream defeated Liberty 83-65. She played for just over two minutes and recorded one rebound. (WNBA)

After the game, Okot described Ruto’s presence as an honour and said his support could open opportunities for other Kenyan girls in sports. (The Independent)
