Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has shared a personal moment from her experience at the recently concluded Rhema Feast 2026. The Kenyan politician met Nigerian gospel singer Sinach during the five-day spiritual gathering held at Nairobi’s Uhuru Park.
Following their meeting, Senator Nyamu posted a selfie with the global worship leader on her Instagram account under the handle @karenzo.nyamu. In her post, she revealed a deep, personal connection to the singer’s music that many of her followers did not know.
“She doesn’t know it, but her music has been the soundtrack to the seasons of my life,” Karen Nyamu revealed.
Music for Every Season
For many observers, a meeting between a high-profile politician and a global music star might seem like a standard photo opportunity. However, Senator Nyamu clarified that the encounter held much more significance for her.
She explained that Sinach’s music has accompanied her through the most private chapters of her life. The Senator noted that the songs have been present during both her highest and lowest points.
“There has always been a Sinach song for the moment, in the shower, in tears, dancing, believing,” Nyamu wrote on Instagram.
Reflecting on the impact of the brief meeting, she added, “This moment was personal.”
A Global Gospel Powerhouse
The singer behind Nyamu’s post is one of the most prominent figures in modern Christian music. Born Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu, Sinach is a multi-award-winning Nigerian songwriter and senior worship leader.
During her career, Sinach has written more than 200 songs. She also set a historic record by spending 12 consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Christian Songwriters chart.
Her most famous song, “Way Maker”, was released in December 2015. The track achieved massive global success, particularly as an anthem of hope during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Way Maker has been translated into over 50 languages and covered by more than 60 international Christian artists.
The song’s footprint is global. It has been covered by major international artists, including Michael W. Smith, Leeland, and Bethel Music. The song also won the GMA Dove Award for Song of the Year, making Sinach the first Nigerian artist to receive the honour.
Thousands Gather at Uhuru Park
The meeting between Nyamu and Sinach took place during Rhema Feast 2026. According to local news reports, the non-denominational event ran from 31 August to 4 September 2026 at Uhuru Park.
The event was organised by Reverend Julian Kyula of Ruach Assemblies. The conference brought together thousands of worshippers and featured prominent African ministers.
Along with Sinach, the line-up included Nigerian artist Dunsin Oyekan and South Africa’s Dr Tumi.
Several prominent political leaders attended the sessions. President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto joined the congregation for the closing final programme. Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Mumias East MP Peter Salasya were also seen at the event.
While the main sessions at Uhuru Park were free to the public, the organisers also hosted a paid Business Forum during the week.
