On Saturday, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris met with celebrity couple Kabi and Milly WaJesus. The meeting took place at the official launch of the ESMANDA Baby Shop on Biashara Street in Nairobi’s Central Business District. During their interaction, a playful debate about family size emerged.
The WaJesus family currently has three children:
- Taji, their firstborn son
- Tsuri, their secondborn daughter
- Trini Luxe, their thirdborn daughter, who was born in January 2025.
During the launch event, Passaris asked the couple if they’d consider adding another baby.
Kabi WaJesus joked about their differing views on having more babies. He explained that his wife wants more children, but he does not share the same desire.
“Bibi yangu anataka lakini mimi sitaki,” he said.
Milly quickly requested Passaris to step in.
“Mwambie mwambie mwambie maneno ache kukataa,” Milly urged. She wanted the leader to tell Kabi to stop refusing her wish to expand the family.
Milly went on to explain her ideal family plan. “Actually ilikuanga nipate watano alafu ni’adopt wengine tufike 12 that was the plan,” she revealed.
Passaris Shares Her Personal Story
As the couple discussed their plans, Passaris suggested adoption as a solution. She encouraged Kabi to consider this path and shared a major personal milestone.
“Si you adopt. Mimi nimeadopt mmoja,” Passaris announced. The representative revealed that she has recently welcomed an adopted child into her own home.
This prompted Milly to suggest a new compromise for her husband. “So niadopt mmoja lakini nitapush mwingine mmoja,” Milly proposed. She expressed willingness to adopt one child if she could also give birth to one more biological baby.
Passaris turned to Kabi to put the ball in his court. “Kazi kwako,” she told him with a smile, acknowledging that the decision now lay with him.
The Tragedy and Healing Behind ESMANDA
The launch of the ESMANDA Baby Shop on Biashara Street carried deep emotional meaning for those in attendance. The shop was founded by a mother named Ann. Ann originally loved shopping for and dressing her young daughter, Baby Amanda. This passion inspired her to start a business selling baby clothes to other mothers.
However, tragedy struck on 11th June 2025, when Baby Amanda was tragically taken from her. Continuing the business became incredibly painful for Ann. To find healing, courage, and purpose, she decided to open the shop in memory of her late daughter.
The brand name ESMANDA beautifully merges her daughter’s two names:
- Eshe
- Amanda
Passaris joined Ann to celebrate the shop’s launch, sharing in the sisterhood of the moment. She praised the entrepreneur for turning a painful experience into a beautiful, hopeful venture dedicated to young families.
