Musicians, DJ Among 10 Killed in Bahamas Plane Crash

A Cessna 402 aircraft had crashed in Andros, Bahamas, killing several people on board, including musicians, with a single survivor reported from the wreckage. Ten people, including musicians, have died in the Andros plane crash. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority (AAIA) of The Bahamas confirmed the fatal accident in an official press release issued the same day. The Pond Band musicians die The aircraft, Bahamas registration C6-FLX, went down on Friday, July 10, 2026. Chief Investigator Kendall Dorsett Jr. was appointed Investigator-in-Charge and is leading the probe in accordance with ICAO Annex 13 standards. Investigators secured the site, preserved evidence, and notified relevant authorities before the end of the day of the crash. The investigation remains in its preliminary stage, with no cause yet established. According to the viral footage, the plane burst into flames after the crash. On Saturday, July 11, Franklyn Hanna, president of the Bahamas Musicians and Entertainers Union (BMEU), tearfully consoled the bereaved families, friends, and colleagues of 10 victims. “Among the dearly departed are some of the talented and vibrant members of our entertainment community, including members of The Pond Band and a DJ, whose passion, dedication, and artistry touched so many lives and helped to enrich the cultural fabric of The Bahamas,” she said. The union emphasised solidarity with grieving families and fellow bandmates and pledged ongoing support as investigations into the crash continue.

“Their loss is not only felt within the industry but across the entire nation. May their souls rest in eternal peace, and may their legacy of music, joy, and inspiration continue to live on in our hearts and through their work,” Hanna added. Learn more Bahamian prime minister responds to Andros crash Bahamian prime minister Philip Brave Davis addressed the nation following the incident, confirming that fatalities had occurred and that one individual survived. “I have been briefed by the commissioner of police on the aircraft incident now under investigation. At this stage, the facts are still being established, and the relevant authorities are working to determine exactly what occurred. We understand that there were casualties on board, and that one person survived,” Davis said on his X page. The prime minister offered his personal condolences to the bereaved families, asking for compassion and privacy to be extended to those affected during what he described as a painful moment. “Ann and I are praying for the families who are now facing unbearable grief. We are also praying for the survivor, whose recovery and care will remain in our thoughts,” he added. Davis confirmed that the government would continue to receive updates from the commissioner of police and other relevant agencies, pledging to keep the public informed as confirmed information became available.
