Bahati Reveals How One Roadside Encounter Massively Changed His Future Plans

Musician  Bahati has shared details of an unexpected encounter with a group of street children, saying the moment inspired him to extend support beyond a simple roadside meeting.
The singer revealed that he came across the children shortly after filming the latest episode of his Bahati Cares initiative, where he had been supporting a woman identified as Ivy. As he drove home, he noticed the children following his vehicle and decided to stop.
Before explaining what happened, Bahati also made a light-hearted remark involving his wife, Diana B. “Someone tell Diana B I said sorry; Range Rover yake imejionea mambo.” The playful comment appeared to suggest that the family’s vehicle had gone through an eventful experience during the encounter.

Stopping to Help

According to Bahati, he chose to stop because he wanted to make the children smile rather than drive away.

He said his first priority was to understand more about their situation, beginning with the belongings they were carrying.

“I saw these street kids following me, and I stopped to make them smile.” “First thing niliwapeleka tukapimishe mali walikua wamebeba.”
Looking Beyond One Day
Rather than limiting his support to the encounter, Bahati said he also collected contact information for the children’s guardians.

He explained that his intention is to continue engaging with them during the week in order to explore longer-term solutions. “I took their guardians’ contact details, and I will be following up this week.”
The singer said his main focus will be helping the children move away from life on the streets while also supporting their education.

“I will be following up this week to see how I can support them to get off the streets as well as their education.”

Continuing Bahati Cares

Bahati described the encounter as another chapter in his Bahati Cares initiative, which he has used to document acts of assistance to individuals facing different challenges. He maintained that his actions were simply about sharing whatever he was able to give.

“This is me sharing the little I have.” He concluded by saying the initiative reflects his commitment to helping those in need whenever the opportunity arises. “This is Bahati Cares.”
