Mluo Socialight’s Interesting Claim About Mbavu Destroyer Ahead of Majembe Fight

Kenyan boxer and social media personality Majembe has publicly challenged Ugandan celebrity boxer Shakib to a new bout, proposing a winner-takes-all contest involving both fighters’ belts. In a video shared on his Instagram page, Majembe addressed Shakib directly and suggested settling the rivalry inside the ring under what he described as fair conditions.

“I heard you were not given a boxing belt, and you won the match, so I want to make a deal. I put my belt on the line, and you put yours — we fight for it.”

Majembe acknowledged Shakib’s previous performance against musician Arrow Boy and said the result had already been accepted. “You defeated Arrow Boy, and we accept that. I want you to face me — a free and fair challenge.”
The boxer went further, raising the stakes by proposing that the winner walk away with both titles.

“If you beat me, you can go with it; if I beat you, I take yours.”

He ended the message with a confident warning to his potential opponent.

“Because I am sure you can’t defeat me. I have a good record in boxing, and you also have a good record.”

The latest challenge adds another chapter to the growing wave of celebrity and exhibition boxing match-ups, attracting attention across East Africa. Shakib has recently been linked to several high-profile call-outs involving Kenyan personalities, including singer Arrow Boy, as organisers and fans continue to push for crossover entertainment fights.
Majembe, whose profile rose sharply following his victory in the Vurugu Boxing Challenge earlier this year, has increasingly positioned himself as one of the local names eager to take on regional opponents. He emerged victorious in the widely discussed bout and walked away with the championship belt, among other prizes.

A Belt on the Line

Although no official fight agreement, venue, or date has been announced, Majembe’s public challenge immediately sparked online conversation, with fans beginning to debate whether a cross-border contest between the two could become a reality.
For now, the ball appears to be in Shakib’s court.
Whether the response comes through social media or a signed fight contract, Majembe has made one thing clear — he wants the next conversation to happen inside the ring.
