The Kenyan digital space is currently witnessing a heated fallout between popular content creators 2mbili and Oga Obinna.
The dispute follows the sudden withdrawal of boxer Majembe from the highly anticipated ‘Vurugu 2.0’ boxing match. Majembe was scheduled to face off against a Somali Boxer before the deal collapsed.
The Allegation of Sabotage
The controversy began when Obinna publicly alleged that 2mbili was the person behind Majembe’s decision to pull out of the event.
Obinna claimed he recognized 2mbili’s influence in a video interview with the boxer, citing specific phrases he believes are characteristic of the content creator.
Obinna suggested that 2mbili had scripted the boxer’s responses to damage the reputation of the boxing tournament.

2mbili Denies ‘Scripting’ ClaimsIn a vicious video response, 2mbili dismissed the accusations as shallow-minded. He expressed disappointment that his long-term colleague would accuse him of sabotage.
2mbili reminded Obinna of their history, stating they have shared much in the past, including sleeping in the same bed during their rise to fame.
“Your win has always been my win bro. The Majembe you are said I gave the script, has been avoiding me, together with his manager. You told them to avoid me because I could spoil their brand. But I don’t care, I have so many ways of surviving,” 2mbili said.
2mbili further revealed that he was actually the person who originally introduced Majembe to Obinna before the ‘Vurugu’ brand was even established. He claimed he had no prior knowledge that Majembe had quit the fight until his presenter conducted an interview with the boxer.
A Breakdown in Respect
2mbili questioned the logic of the accusation, noting that Majembe stands to lose significant earnings by not fighting. He argued that he does not have the financial power to convince a boxer to walk away from “millions” just to spite a colleague.
“Just because an interview was done and the boy came out clean that he won’t be part of Vurugu 2.0, now 2Mbili is part of it. How powerful is 2Mbili to convince Majembe and his management not to participate in the match that they made millions? Kwani mimi nawapatia pesa ngapi?” 2Mbili asked.

The content creator noted that this was not the first time Obinna had mentioned his name in a negative light. He claimed this was the fourth or fifth instance of such remarks, but this time he felt compelled to speak up.“This is not fair at all, and Obinna, let this be the last time you are mentioning my name carelessly. Let’s respect each other on a serious note,” he added.
Contract Disputes and ‘Blocked’ Messages
The fallout took a sharper turn when details of the disagreement between Majembe and Obinna emerged. According to Majembe, the issue was strictly contractual.
He claimed that Obinna sent him a contract via phone that contained terms he found binding and unfavorable.
When Majembe requested changes to the contract, he alleges that Obinna “changed his mind immediately” and told him to forget about the game.
“Obinna has blocked me. It’s like he caught feelings because I told him things weren’t going well here,” Majembe explained in an interview with 2Mbili’s presenter.
2mbili corroborated this, stating that off-camera, Majembe showed him messages and evidence that Obinna had indeed blocked him rather than negotiating the terms.
