In a statement to parents on Thursday, the school’s Principal, David Chomba, said that no student was harmed and that students are continuing with their normal learning activities.
Following the incident, parents have been invited to a meeting to update them on the matter and discuss the school’s plan on ensuring student welfare and safety.
Principal Chomba said that after the meeting, parents and guardians will leave with their sons and spend the weekend together at home.
“This measure is intended solely to provide an opportunity for students to be with their families as the school undertakes further internal reviews and preparations to ensure continued normalcy and a conducive learning environment,” he said.
He reaffirmed that students are safe under the school’s protection, and the decision has been prompted by the need to remain cautious and maintain the confidence of the school’s community.
This comes amid a series of unrest in several high schools across the country, as students from Nakuru Girls High School and Njoro Girls High School have also been sent home under unclear circumstances.
The incidents come days after a deadly fire at Utumishi Girls Academy in Gilgil, Nakuru County, killed 16 students inside a dormitory on May 28, 2026.
Police said 74 students were hospitalised after the incident, and nine girls, suspected to be behind the fire, were ordered by the court in Naivasha to be detained at the Nakuru children’s remand home for 21 days as investigations ensue.
