Harambee Starlets name squad for Zambia Four Nations Tournament ‎

The high-profile Kenya Police Bullets forward Emily Morang’a and Kibera Soccer Women shot-stopper Vivian Shiyonzo have made a return to the Harambee Starlets team ahead of Four Nations Tournament scheduled to take place from June 6 to June 9, 2026 in Zambia.

Head coach Beldine Odemba has unveiled her 24-player provisional squad ahead of the tourney with the roster heavily retaining the core of players who featured in the recent FIFA Series in Nairobi.

The camp officially opens this Friday before the team departs for Zambia on June 3.

Harambee Starlets will open their campaign against Zimbabwe on June 6, before facing hosts Zambia on June 9.

Shiyonzo, a former FKF Women’s Cup Golden Glove winner, enters a stacked three-player unit alongside seasoned veterans Annedy Kundu and Lilian Awuor.

Kundu and Awuor have long traded the number-one jersey, but Shiyonzo’s domestic form brings intense technical friction to the training pitch, forcing a wide-open battle for the starting gloves.

Up front, Morang’a’s return adds a ruthless, clinical edge to an attacking line that has occasionally lacked composure against top-tier opposition.

Fresh from helping Police Bullets retain the Women’s Premier League title, Morang’a joins the national team’s attacking department also featuring Jentrix Shikangwa and Mwanalima Adam.

During the Nairobi FIFA Series, the Starlets found plenty of fluid transitions but struggled to ruthlessly convert under pressure, making Morang’a the tactical answer to a glaring deficit.

This tournament is crucial to Starlets as they prepare for their second-ever appearance at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco from July 25 to August 16.

Odemba will use the Zambia trip to build a squad capable of making continental history, noting that these matches will provide the perfect test to gauge where the team stands.

‎‎These matches will give us another opportunity to continue building the team and exposing the players to competitive international football ahead of WAFCON.

Our objective is to arrive at the tournament ready to compete at the highest level. We want to challenge ourselves, target a place in the semi-finals and put ourselves in contention for World Cup qualification,” said Odemba.
