Kenya has intensified preparedness measures against the threat of Ebola amid growing concern over outbreaks reported in parts of the region.
According to the Ministry of Health Kenya, the country remains on high alert despite having no confirmed Ebola cases so far.
Authorities have strengthened surveillance at border points and airports through intensified screening of travellers entering the country.
Rapid response teams have also been deployed nationwide to improve emergency response in case of a suspected outbreak.
Isolation centres have been placed on standby, while health workers across the country are undergoing specialised training on Ebola detection, management and containment.
The government has also enhanced community surveillance and cross-border monitoring to curb possible transmission.
In addition, personal protective equipment (PPE) and testing kits have been distributed to health facilities, while public awareness campaigns have been scaled up to educate citizens on prevention measures, symptoms and the importance of reporting suspected cases early.
