Roble Nuno appointed Commission on Revenue Allocation CEO

The Commission on Revenue Allocation has appointed CPA Roble Said Nuno as its new commission secretary and chief executive officer.

The appointment was announced on Friday by CRA chairperson Mary Chebukati following what the commission described as a rigorous and competitive recruitment process.

CRA said the exercise was conducted in line with applicable recruitment laws and procedures.

The selection process included psychometric assessments and oral interviews held on May 14 at the Kenya School of Government.

According to the commission, the recruitment attracted highly qualified candidates and adhered to established guidelines.

In a statement dated May 14, CRA said Nuno brings extensive experience in public financial management and leadership, qualities expected to strengthen the commission’s delivery of its constitutional mandate.

Nuno brings more than 30 years of experience in accounting and public finance.

He is a certified public accountant, CPA(K), and a member of both the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and the Institute of Internal Auditors.

He has held several leadership positions during his career, including serving as County Executive Committee member for Finance and Health, as well as Director of Revenue in Garissa county.

Nuno has also previously worked at the Kenya Urban Roads Authority and the Ministry of Roads and Public Works.

“The Commission on Revenue Allocation is pleased to announce the appointment of CPA Roble Said Nuno as the new Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer,” the statement said.

CRA further said the appointment followed a competitive process undertaken transparently and in line with integrity standards.

“The commission extends its appreciation to all candidates who participated in the process and reaffirms its commitment to transparency, meritocracy and integrity in all its recruitment exercises,” the statement added.

The Commission on Revenue Allocation is an independent commission established under Article 216 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

The commission is mandated to recommend the basis for equitable sharing of revenue raised nationally between the national and county governments.

It also advises on matters concerning the financing and financial management of both levels of government.

Nuno now takes over the commission’s secretariat at a time when debates around revenue sharing, county allocations and equitable development remain central to Kenya’s devolved governance system.
