Pastor Jimmy Irungu Stuns Kenyans after Lying in Casket During 80-Hour Sleep Challenge

Pastor Jimmy Irungu has stunned Kenyans after pulling off a dramatic stunt midway through his ongoing 80-hour sleeping challenge. Pastor Jimmy Irungu lay in a casket during his sleeping challenge. The preacher rose to fame earlier this year after undertaking an 80-hour tree-hugging challenge aimed at raising cancer awareness. He made headlines after collapsing at the 79th hour and being rushed to the hospital, just short of completing the feat. Why did Pastor Jimmy Irungu lie in a casket? On Friday, April 3, he began another endurance challenge, this time an 80-hour sleep marathon, calling on the government to declare cancer a national disaster.  However, at around the 50th hour, the pastor suddenly disappeared from the bed where he had been resting, leaving onlookers puzzled. Moments later, he resurfaced in a casket that had been transported in a hearse. The preacher was seen lying inside the sealed casket, which was then carried by a group of onlookers and placed next to the bed he had been using.

SThe unusual scene drew attention as members of the public gathered around, with some viewing him in a manner similar to a funeral setting, as the casket remained closed and he lay with his eyes shut. Throughout the challenge, Pastor Jimmy has maintained that his goal is to highlight the suffering of cancer patients, explaining that he wants to demonstrate the pain and emotional toll experienced by patients in hospital beds as they undergo treatment. “One day cancer will die,” has been his consistent message throughout the marathon challenge. The stunt sparked mixed reactions online, with some netizens debating the lengths he had gone to in his campaign against cancer, while others questioned whether it was a publicity stunt. Here are some of the comments shared: Kenneth Kikuyu: “Hivi wangojwa wakiona hivi nikuwatia moyo au kuwavunja moyo this is not good.”

Robert Kinyanjui M: “Hata kama ni content hii nayo imekua too much.” Grace Kamau: “I think Pastor James passed through alot after the uncle died of Cancer.” Geoffrey Mosiria: “This man, Pastor Jimmy Irungu, could be battling a mental health problem and you may not know. I am ready to take him to the Rapid Rehabilitation Centre for Addiction for a mental health assessment and treatment, and I will take care of all his treatment expenses. However, if I get a medical assessment confirming that he is okay and that he is only joking about serious issues like this instead of preaching to reduce the number of deaths and helping to save lost souls, then he should be held accountable for his actions.”Pastor Jimmy Irungu hugged a tree for 79 hours before collapsing.
