A Filipino woman has been left stranded and distressed after being left in the dark by the love of her life, who vanished without a trace. A Kenyan man allegedly dumped and blocked a Filipino lady. Joan, who works and lives in Qatar, was allegedly dumped by her boyfriend, Martin Kiptoo, after six months of dating in the Gulf. The heartbroken young woman shared that Kiptoo allegedly abandoned her after finding out she was pregnant, allegedly with his child. Joan introduced to Kiptoo Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Joan recounted how she met Kiptoo, whom she dated for six months before he left without a word.
“Kiptoo worked as a security guard at a building I frequently visited to spend time with my fellow Filipino friends. One of my friends knew him, but was never interested in a romantic relationship with him. Kiptoo also monitored the CCTV cameras, so he would know when I was around or not. My friend introduced me to him one day, and we started talking. He told me he was interested in having a Filipino girlfriend. It was the same thing he had told my uninterested friend. I was open to being in a relationship with him. He told me he was from Kenya, and we exchanged numbers. I also told him I was rarely on WhatsApp because I used a button phone,” she said. Kiptoo was not put off by the fact that Joan only occasionally used WhatsApp on her other phone, and he continued pursuing her. Joan introduced to Kiptoo’s family
The two kept in touch on WhatsApp, and Kiptoo introduced Joan to his family in Kenya by sending her photos and identifying them. “He would say, ‘This is my mum and my siblings.’ I asked him about his father, but he never answered. We continued talking, and one thing led to another until I got pregnant after about six months of dating,” she said. Joan thought the pregnancy news would be welcomed, but it instead caused a rift between them. She claimed Kiptoo cut short his stay in Qatar and flew back to Kenya after learning about the pregnancy, then allegedly blocked her on all social media platforms. Joan blocked on WhatsApp “He blocked me on WhatsApp, so there has been no communication. I feel so depressed and stressed because of the whole situation. He has not contacted me since then. I have been on my own,” she said. Despite the heartbreak, Joan went ahead and gave birth to her baby, giving the child a Kenyan name. She also opened a TikTok account for her baby, where she shares photos and updates about their lives. After her videos went viral, some Kenyans began supporting her and planning to raise money for her flight to Kenya so she could meet the father of her daughter.
