Sport Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya has today handed over the Kasarani Stadium to the CHAN 2024 Local Organising Committee, a key milestone ahead of the competition that will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

The ceremony culminates the renovations of the key facility for CHAN in accordance with the stipulated requirements by the Confederations of African Football (CAF).

Co-host Kenya will get its campaign underway against two-time champion DRC on Sunday, 3rd August, this year.

Harambee Stars will play all its Group A matches at Kasarani, while the rest of the group’s fixtures will be staged at the Nyayo stadium.

19 teams divided into four groups will participate in the 8th edition of the CHAN tournament, which will run from 2nd August, with the opening match set for Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, pitting co-host Taifa Stars against the Stallion of Burkina Faso.

Kasarani Stadium will host the final match of the tournament on 30th August.
