Kenyan content creator Mungai Eve has returned to social media following days of silence after her boyfriend, Victor Lameck (known online as Shifuwayy), made startling claims about their relationship.
The YouTuber, who typically keeps fans updated via Instagram Stories, had gone quiet after reports surfaced that she had loaned Shifuwayy KSh 1 million—a revelation that sparked widespread discussion among Kenyan netizens.
A Grateful Return
Eve’s reappearance on Instagram was marked by appreciation for the outpouring of support she received during her absence.
Sharing snippets of a recent outing with a friend, she addressed her followers: “Been seeing your DMs, calls, and texts. Thanks, tribe. Let’s normalise checking on our friends and anyone close to us.”
The controversy began when Shifuwayy alleged that his life was “in danger”.

He also expressed dissatisfaction with their living situation, stating his desire to move to a better home. In leaked messages, he wrote: “I know I’ll not let people mess me up again. It’s enough… I’m questioning everything I’m doing, and that makes me mess up more.”
Eve later clarified that his family was “looking into the matter,” though she did not elaborate further.
Unexpected Support from an Ex
Adding to the drama, Eve’s ex-boyfriend and former collaborator, Director Trevor, publicly defended her character—a surprising move given their acrimonious breakup earlier this year.
Trevor, who had previously accused Eve of being abusive during their relationship, retracted his past statements, calling her a “good person” who wouldn’t harm anyone.
“She’s a big brand, and she has worked extremely hard,” he said, referencing the KSh 750,000 Eve spent on her 25th birthday celebrations. “People don’t realise how much effort goes into influencing. Let her enjoy her money.” He emphasised her financial independence, dismissing criticism of her spending as unwarranted.
When asked about their current relationship, Trevor admitted they rarely speak but left the door open for reconciliation: “Everyone is busy with their own things. That doesn’t mean we can’t talk again in the future.”
