Kalonzo Musyoka Claims Ex-KDF Boss Francis Ogolla Was Assassinated: “Was Taken Out”

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has made damming allegations regarding the death of former Chief of Defence Force, General Francis Ogolla. Kalonzo Musyoka: Was Francis Ogolla assassinated? Speaking in Mwingi Town, Kitui county, on Sunday, April 13, Kalonzo claimed the former KDF boss was assassinated over his role during the 2022 General Election.  According to Kalonzo, Ogolla’s role at the Bomas of Kenya might have threatened some elements within President Willia Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza administration.

“He was sent by the National Security Council during the last election, and there are some people who had threatened that they would deal with this guy later. There was no way General Ogolla was not going to become the next head of our military—and that is why he was taken out. General Francis Ogolla was taken out! No Kenyan believes the story of engine failure. He was taken out!” Kalonzo claimed. The Wiper party leader appeared to dismiss the official report into the helicopter crash that killed Ogolla.

The former vice president called for a more independent and transparent inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the helicopter crash that claimed Ogolla’s life. According to the Wiper leader, recent chopper accidents need to be thoroughly investigated by an independent team. “What has happened is whitewashing of that situation. No one will believe that story unless there is an independent inquiry into his death. We need an independent inquiry, possibly by Parliament. These helicopter crashes need to stop,” Kalonzo stated.
