Nairobi United and APS Bomet maintained their promotion push after winning their res[ective weekend National Super League,NSL, matches to tighten their grip on the first and second place on the standings respectively.

Nairobi United was held to a barren draw at Sudi Stadium by Nzoia Sugar but still remained at the top after their closest challengers APS Bomet also battled to a 1-1 draw with Fortune Sacco at  a packed Bomet Stadium on Sunday.

After 24 rounds Nairobi United holds a narrow, one point lead against APS Bomet who are second with 48 points.

Naivas and Kibera Black Stars are placed third. The top two teams at the end of the season eean automatic qualification to the Premier league while the third placed team faces the second last finisher in FKFPL in relegation/promotion play off.

At the tail end of the log Dimba Patriots who haven’t played a single game this season are bottom with zero points while Assad and Mombasa Stars are placed 19th and 18th respectively.

Meanwhile AP Bomet promotion efforts were boosted following Ksh.5.5Million sponsorship boost from gaming firm WR Bet.

The five-month partnership is expected to play a pivotal role in helping APS earn promotion to the league after coming close in recent past.

‘’This is the Only Club we are currently sponsoring and We will be in Bomet on Sunday to witness the team play, meet the fans, and register them on our platform. We have plenty of merchandise and other goodies for the club and the fans,” said WR Head of Supervision Grayson Marwa.

“We are also looking forward to extending this partnership into the next season. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, we will be exploring community projects in need of support, in Bomet and the entire Rift Valley region,” he added.

On his part, WR Bet regional director Vadim Daianov assured fans of WR Bet’s continued support.

“We are wishing the team success in their remaining matches so they can secure promotion to the next level. My plea to the fans is to turn up in large numbers and cheer their beloved team,” said Daianov.

The Club CEO Chief Inspector of Police Rose Chemutai expressed her gratitude for the sponsorship and emphasized the importance of fans support to the team.

“We want our home fans to turn up in large numbers to witness this match. They have always stood by us, and this is also an opportunity for them to learn more about the company that has chosen to sponsor us,” said Chemutai.

“This is a major boost for us because, as you know, the league currently lacks an official sponsor. Most teams rely on donations and well-wishers to keep running, so this support comes at the right time,” she added.
