Alice Wangui, a family member, tearfully expressed the burden that had come with losing such a large part of the family, adding that the brothers who perished were the breadwinners for the entire family. “They are at Naivasha mortuary; we are awaiting the post-mortem, and we still need to find money for their burial,” she said. Lawrence Thuo, a neighbour, stated that one woman had lost all her children in the incident, as well as her husband, and she is now left alone.
He also noted that one of the children was their househelp’s child, and he too lost his life in the fatal crash. “They were eight people headed to the memorial service, but one stayed behind and did not come back with them, which is why there were seven in the car,” he stated.
