APS Bomet and Fortune Sacco battled to a 1-1 draw in a fiercely contested NSL match at Bomet IAAF Stadium over the weekend.

Fortune Sacco’s Askoe Lucas opened the scoring first in the 31st minute, putting the Visitors ahead.

However, APS Bomet’s Duke Muhoro responded just before halftime, levelling the score in the 45th minute.

Fortune Sacco missed a goal after having an offside goal in the second half.

“The game was competitive but the race has not been that bad; we’ve tried, though the gap between us and our opponent in the league ranking is big,” said Manasseh Opunde, Fortune Sacco player.

Besides the draw, Player Askoe Lucas from Fortune Sacco had a different remark as he referred to the game as fair. “The game has not been very tough, though we needed a point,” he said.

At the stadium, there were many fans cheering APS Bomet, encouraging them to take a home win.

“We did not take a win this time, but in the next game, we promise our fans that we will win. This will come if we maintain our focus,” remarked Duke Muhoro.

Mr. Evans Mafuta, Coach to APS Bomet, remarked that the game was fair. “I will not complain on the outcome of today’s match but we shall continue to push ourselves for the future matches; I accept the results,” he said.

While addressing the players and fans, the Director of Police Operations in the Country, Mr. Adamson Bungei, promised to fully support the APS Bomet Football Club in their football endeavors.
