Kenya Power Lists Areas to Experience Power Interruptions on Friday, February 28

Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced scheduled maintenance for Friday, February 28. Kenya Power live-line experts preparing to use an articulated lift to relocate power lines. In a statement on Thursday, February 27, the power company said areas in five counties would face power interruptions for about eight hours. Kenya Power said the scheduled maintenance aims to improve service delivery in various counties nationwide.  “Please note that the following areas will be on planned maintenance on February,28,” KPLC statement read in part. Where will power interruptions occur? In the capital, parts of Kilimani are set to be without power from 9 a.m. to about 5 p.m. The affected areas include Nyangumi Road, Chaka Road, Lenana Road, Turbo Road, Rose Avenue, Jabavu Road, Kasuku Road, Makuyu Lane, Theta Lane, and surrounding customers. Kisii county In Kisii county, areas in Nyamaiya and Nyabera are set to experience power interruptions from 9 a.m. to about 5 p.m.

The affected areas include Nyamaiya, Nyabera, Riagumo, Arura, Gesabakwa, Ekona, Suguta, Nyamondo ATC, Mogenda, Monianku Secondary School, Metaburo Secondary School, Muma Secondary School, Ochodororo Weighbridge, Moticho, and surrounding customers. Murang’a county In Murang’a, the listed areas will experience power interruptions from 9 a.m. to about 5 p.m. The affected areas include Githambo Market, Kanyenyaini Market, Rwathia Secondary School, Rwathia Market, Kiairathe Secondary School, Kiairathe Market, and surrounding customers. Meru county In Meru County, power interruptions will occur from about 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.The affected areas in Meru County include Meru Water Supply, Star Times Network, Katheri, Githogo Town, Githogo Tea Factory, Chief Ikunyua, Kirongine, Patmos, Kathumbi, Kainginyo, Kianthumbi, Kithioro, Nthimbiri, Mworoga, Kithaku, Kanthuni, Kathiranga Secondary School, Muringa TBC, Meru Central Dairy Cooling Centre, Githongo Law Courts, Krugwa Girls, Kinjo Market, Hydro PSP, and surrounding areas. Taita Taveta In Taita Taveta, power interruptions are scheduled from 9 a.m. to about 5 p.m. The affected areas include Makwasinyi, Kasigau Girls School, Bungule, Jora, and surrounding areas.
