Nairobi County’s Environment Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has responded to claims that he shut down Nairobi’s favourite nightclub. Geoffrey Mosiria teased many after holding Sabina Joy’s signage. Did Geoffrey Mosiria close down Sabina Joy? A few weeks back, Mosiria was spotted in town holding the Sabina Joy signage and many wondered why he would rule it be shut. There was also a video of him around the premises, and it appears this was when he decided to remove the signage. In a video interview, the chief officer explained what happened that led to the speculation. According to Mosiria, Sabina Joy is still open, and what was done was only removing the signage because it was blocking people from moving around the area.
He jokingly said that the place is legendary and one that he cannot touch because men would demonstrate. “You can’t touch a legend. That is one place if you touch men will demonstrate and don’t ask me why,” he said. He even offered to direct revellers to the club if lost through a pin location to be able to access the place. He joked that if the former owner of the club, now deceased, heard the news that he removed the signage, he would wake up from his grave, but affirmed that Sabina Joy is well intact.
