Eyebrows Raised as Kithure Kindiki Skips William Ruto’s New Year Party at Kisii State Lodge

President William Ruto hosted a New year’s party at the Kisii State lodge on Tuesday, December 31, which was attended by the country’s high dignitaries. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki did not attend President William Ruto’s New Year party at the Kisii State Lodge. Was Kithure Kindiki present at Ruto’s party?

However, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki’s absence from the highly publicised party did not go unnoticed. While the president shared details about the event on his social media, his deputy posted nothing about it. Kindiki instead used his platforms to wish Kenyans a happy 2025. “Happy, blessed, and joyous 2025. God bless your families, and God bless Kenya,” Kindiki’s statement read.

Kindiki’s absence sparked speculation among Kenyans, with many questioning whether a rift had developed between him and the president just months after his swearing-in as deputy president. This led to questions about whether history was repeating itself, as, like his predecessor Rigathi Gachagua, Kindiki has begun missing events attended by Ruto.

How did Kenyan’s react to Kindiki’s absence? Kenyans online took to their social media platforms to give their own opinions on why Kindiki was absent from Ruto’s party. Mtumishi George: “Kindiki is having it rough, but I thank God Kindiki will teach Ruto a political lesson he will never forget.” Rukaka Mwethaga: “Something is boiling slowly.” Karichu: “Was he kidnapped?” Wairimu Anna: “Must he be there? He also has a life outside politics.” Mary Karanja: Jaizy: “Kithure Kindiki has been missing on recent occasions.”
